Day 7: VIETNAM NORTHERN TREKKING TOUR: Cuc Phuong - Ninh Binh (B/L/-)

They may be our fellow-passengers since we'll use their local footpath in coming expedition. They are very poor, but provide an interesting local background and a colorful culture. O/N at Hang Kia village. We walk from the breathtaking mountain scenery and several hill villages before arriving at Hang Kia in a picturesque valley of peach orchards.
Today we have an excursion to Cu Chi Tunnels to visit an exposition hall plus a widened section with the tunnels to acquire a feel from the underground life. Upon leaving Cu Chi we drive a shorter distance to Tay Ninh, the headquarters of Cao Dai Sect . There are also possibilities to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 on the nearby rifle range. The extensive tunnels are already specially made with living areas, weapon factories, filed hospitals, command centres, plus accommodation. These costumes are a symbol in the curious combination in the Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism. Day 9 : HOCHIMINH – TAYNINH – CUCHI - HOCHIMINH (B/-/-)
The incredible underground network in Cu Chi stretched over 200 kilometres and became legendary throughout the American war. We arrive over time to understand the ornate temple of Cao Dai and attend the extraordinary mid-day service once the followers fill the hall wearing colored robes. This religion was founded in 1923 and after this numbers over 2 million members.
