Good Morning Britain weather presenter Laura Tobin today hit back at an Australian MP who branded her an 'ignorant Pommy' following a TV clash about climate change - by listing her impressive academic qualifications.

The trained meteorologist with a degree in physics became embroiled in a row with climate change sceptic Craig Kelly after she corrected him during a GMB debate about the Australian bushfires, hosted yesterday by Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.

In the wake of the debate, Mr Kelly called Ms Tobin 'an ignorant Pommy weather girl' on his Facebook account, but she hit back this morning with her own withering comeback, telling the MP: 'Ignorant could not be further from the truth!'

Ms Tobin responded in a scathing Twitter post saying she was a qualified meteorologist with a degree in physics

Following a robust defence from Piers, Ms Tobin then listed her vast academic and professional achievements, including her degree in meteorology and https://loop.frontiersin.org/people/873037/bio physics, and four years spent in the RAF.

Ms Tobin said: 'Ignorant could not further from the truth - I have no agenda I was just telling the facts and I was so infuriated by his lack of understanding.'

She added: 'Lots of people from Australia have been sending me love and support. I spoke to Australian TV and people have been amazingly supportive.'
