When a person seeks to prove something, that person would often present evidence that would convince the people that he or she is trying to convince that what he or she is saying is true, and in the realm of evidence, the best evidence that could be presented by anyone would be the official records of the same. These official records are often what is referred to as public records and New Mexico Public Records are an example of these official records that would be the best evidence. Exactly what the record is trying to prove would depend on the record that would be presented by the party in question.

The reason for this is because there are many records that could be requested for by a person and each record would be unique in the sense that they could only prove that which is written on the face of the record itself. This means that the record could only be used to provide evidence to prove that that which is written on the record had happened and the fact that something else should happen first before the event that is described on the record could happen would be immaterial because these record could not prove that prior event, for, after all, another record would have to be presented for that.

The reason why these records are the best evidence that could be used to prove something lies in the fact that these are the official records of the government, and because that is the case, these records are afforded the presumption of regularity such that the contents of the records are presumed to be true and accurate at all times. Note, however, that the presumption applies only if the records in question were obtained from the proper sources, and only if the party who would claim that the records are false would not be able to prove his or her allegation as to the falsity of the record in question.

A request for copies of the records in question could be done at both the local or county level and the national or state level, but before one could go about sending requests, one should first learn where the record that he or she is seeking is being kept. Usually, records are kept in the custody of the office that made the records in the first place, though this would not always be the case as the law would sometimes provide for an official custodian of the same. The method that one could use to make the request would depend on the office where the records are being kept, though there are some offices that allow for anyone to make the request by either sending a request through the mail or requesting for the same in person.

New Mexico Vital Records may also be found online through the use of online databases, and these databases could provide substantially the same information as that which could be found from the various databases and archives, though do note that these sources are not official sources so as to present the records that could be found here with the presumption of regularity.
