The limestone within this bay went through 500 million years of formation in various conditions and environments. The evolution of the karsts with this bay has had 20 million years underneath the impact with the tropical wet climate. The Bay comes with an area of around 1,553 km2, including 1,960 islets, most of which are limestone. It's not the cliffs themselves that produce Ha Long Bay unique, but instead their sheer number. Ha Long Bay can be a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a popular travel destination, positioned in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam. The core in the bay comes with a area of 334 km2 using a high density of 775 islets. A huge bay, dotted with nearly 2,000 mostly uninhabited limestone cliffs, the breathtaking scenery is very similar to that from the Andaman coast of Thailand, Vang Vieng in Laos and Guilin in China.
