The evolution of the karsts in this bay has gotten 20 million years beneath the impact in the tropical wet climate. The core of the bay has an area of 334 km2 using a high density of 775 islets. It's not the cliffs themselves that produce Ha Long Bay unique, but their sheer number. A huge bay, dotted with nearly 2,000 mostly uninhabited limestone cliffs, the breathtaking scenery is very similar to that with the Andaman coast of Thailand, Vang Vieng in Laos and Guilin in China. The limestone in this bay has gone through 500 million numerous years of formation in different conditions and environments. Ha Long Bay is often a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a popular travel destination, in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam. The Bay comes with an area of around 1,553 km2, including 1,960 islets, a few of which are limestone.
