The limestone with this bay moved through 500 million numerous years of formation in numerous conditions and environments. The Bay has an area of around 1,553 km2, including 1,960 islets, many of which are limestone. The evolution of the karsts on this bay has brought 20 million years beneath the impact with the tropical wet climate. A huge bay, dotted with nearly 2,000 mostly uninhabited limestone cliffs, the breathtaking landscape is very similar to that from the Andaman coast of Thailand, Vang Vieng in Laos and Guilin in China. It's not the cliffs themselves which make Ha Long Bay unique, but their sheer number. Ha Long Bay can be a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with a popular travel destination, situated in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam. The core with the bay comes with an area of 334 km2 using a high density of 775 islets.
