Many popular books and authors today prefer to present the thought of enlightenment as though it were a recipe for chocolate cake. Their titles contain promising messages of ease, simplicity, shortcuts, and delicious returns. In such books, enlightenment can be construed as a secular version of "heaven"-an idealized state of existence, once reserved for mountaintop monks and ascetics whose life was devoted exclusively to meditation and holy living-but now, with just easy steps, may be achieved within our modern hedonistic culture, with minimal fuss of effort. You can't blame the authors or their publishers for jumping around the social bandwagon of self-indulgence that advocates getting something for nothing, our to certainly instant gratification, and our short attention spans. Sadly, however, the buzz of which self-improvement books with diluted messages only shows that we still a considerable ways to venture to be truly liberated from your thinking habits, to become truly "enlightened."




However, I have discovered that there is a common condition, situation that most individuals at one time or any other have experienced, many people placed on a daily basis, and it's also called stress! Now, I have been within the ministry for over half playing, together with like a pastor for pretty much ten years. Also, I have been a chaplain at a maximum security prison.
