Ha Long Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a popular travel destination, situated in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam. The core of the bay posseses an area of 334 km2 using a high density of 775 islets. The limestone within this bay has gone through 500 million years of formation in various conditions and environments. It's not the cliffs themselves that will make Ha Long Bay unique, but their sheer number. The evolution with the karsts in this bay has gotten 20 million years underneath the impact of the tropical wet climate. A huge bay, dotted with nearly 2,000 mostly uninhabited limestone cliffs, the breathtaking landscape is very similar to that in the Andaman coast of Thailand, Vang Vieng in Laos and Guilin in China. The Bay has an area of around 1,553 km2, including 1,960 islets, many of which are limestone.
You may visit a floating village
