After breakfast at hotel we heading west to Hoa Binh Province where we stop for refreshments. Our hosts with this evening could be the H’mong minority people. Trekking to Hang Kia Village Whilst enjoying their hospitality, we're going to discover a somewhat more about their lives and culture. Tonight’s accommodation could likely to end up a a bit more rustic than choosing used to. Following lunch in Mai Chau town we drive to the White Thai village of Sa Linh from where we commence a 3-hour trek to the village of Hang Kia. From our stop we climb towards the Mai Chau valley, about another a couple of hours away, stopping on the way to take inside spectacular scenery.
We then ride 20km through Cuc Phuong forest for the park center, tea break, then trek in 3 hrs round trip for the Tetrameles nudiflora (Sequoia) 1,000 years tree. After a morning's exploring we resume Van village for lunch. This evening following dinner, we're going to have the opportunity to get more cultural interaction, before retiringVan Village Mai Chau for your second night in a very stilt house. With lunch finished there will probably time for the short siesta or stroll down for the river before embarking on a 3 hour walk to the village of Xo (pronounced Soh). After breakfast we spend the morning strolling across the surrounding villages and meeting villagers across the way.
Leave Hanoi on our support vehicle, to Hoa Binh for your starting point, this really depends on how fit you might be so we can select the best terrain that suite you, 20 km before Hoa Binh town, and 50 km before Mai Chau valley (this can be a mountain challenge).
