Ha Long Bay is often a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with a popular travel destination, located in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam. The Bay posseses an area of around 1,553 km2, including 1,960 islets, many of which are limestone. The limestone on this bay has gone through 500 million years of formation in numerous conditions and environments. A huge bay, dotted with nearly 2,000 mostly uninhabited limestone cliffs, the breathtaking landscape is very similar to that of the Andaman coast of Thailand, Vang Vieng in Laos and Guilin in China. It's not the cliffs themselves that make Ha Long Bay unique, but alternatively their sheer number. The evolution from the karsts within this bay has had 20 million years underneath the impact of the tropical wet climate. The core with the bay posseses an area of 334 km2 with a high density of 775 islets.
