I did a year of general surgical residency at Johns Hopkins. I then did a urologic oncology fellowship at Columbia, sponsored by a Ferdinand C. Valentine Fellowship from the New York Academy of Medicine and a Young Investigator Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology. In this fellowship, I had additional training in the investigation and surgical treatment of urologic cancers such as bladder, prostate, kidney, penis and testis.<br><br><br><br>I've won many awards during almost 2 decades in urology, including the Young Researcher Award from the National Kidney Foundation, First Prize Lab Investigation-Valentine Essay Competition New York Academy of Medicine, Honorable Mention- Valentine Essay Contest New York Academy of Medicine, as well as a Pfizer Scholar in Urology Award (twice). I have performed over 3000 operations including over 1000 radical prostatectomies for prostate cancer, either by the open or robotic strategies.
